Every project is different but we aim to complete every job as quickly as is practical. As a guide we advise a time frame of 10-15 working days for kitchen installation. Your designer will advise you of your own project timescale at the time of booking.

The pros of living at home throughout the renovation

There are numerous benefits to staying at home throughout your kitchen renovation. Firstly, if you’re at home, you get to stay up-to-date with the project as it is happening and are there is any quick decisions need to be made. There is also no additional cost involved making the whole renovation much cheaper. Your house will be more secure, because it’s not being left empty and should any issues arise with neighbours you are there to help resolve the dispute or answer their questions. Some people choose to go away for the most disruptive part of the renovation for the first few days.

The downside to staying at home throughout the renovation

Throughout the entire kitchen renovation process there will be a lot of noise, this could be particularly disruptive if you work from home. There will also be a lot of coming and going through the main door with tradesman bringing in materials and equipment. Despite their best efforts to keep your home as tidy and clean as possible you should also expect dust and dirt to come through the home too.

If you decide to move out

Living off-site during your kitchen does not mean you will be out of touch with the progress of the project. Discuss the project management with your designer and ask for regular updates. Your designer will keep you fully updated with the project and will call you as soon as possible if a decision needs to be made or a problem arises. Enjoy your renovation stress and hassle free but letting our team manage your project for you.

If you decide to stay at home

Most of our clients choose to remain at home throughout their kitchen renovation. Our top tip is to be prepared - speak to your designer about what time the work will run from and to and try to work out of the home for that time period. It is helpful to set up a temporary kitchen somewhere else in the home if you can. Communication is key when it comes to running a successful renovation while at home so be sure to tell your designer of any boundaries you wish to set e.g. Use the back door or hire a portaloo for the workers.

Our expert kitchen design team will be more than happy to discuss your options with you and explain the installation process to help you make a more informed decision ahead of your renovation.
